The Band
Andy WyattChristmas
(vocals and guitar)
Andy is the band’s founder and began the project as a trio in 2006. He writes almost all of the songs and produces the band’s albums in his own small recording studio. He also handles booking and the website. His biggest influences are The Mills Brothers, Big Joe Turner, Fats Domino, and Count Basie. Blues greats like John Lee Hooker, Lightnin’ Hopkins, and Robert Johnson also had a significant influence.

Miss Martini
(piano)
Miss Martini joined the band in 2017 and brought boogie-woogie and rhythm and blues influences to the music. Her diverse piano playing enriches the band’s sound immensely. Since 2019, she has also been involved in the songwriting process, and songs like “Alligator Bar Boogie” and “Changing Times” have been created with her. Her main job is as a piano teacher, which keeps her busy making music around the clock.

Grandpa Pete
(vocals, guitar, bluesharp)
When Pete joined the band in 2015, it was still The Wyatt Christmas Trio. His harp, guitar, and raspy vocals transformed the trio into a much more diverse quartet, and later into the current quintet. Pete’s roots are clearly in the blues and accordingly, he plays an amplified harp, in the style of the famous Chicago blues sound. His vocals also give the band even more possibilities.

Olaf Schumacher
(upright bass)
During the band’s transition from a quartet to a quintet, Olaf joined the band as the new man on double bass. He brings a more edgy influence, such as rockabilly and blues bopper style, to the band and ensures that these stylistic elements are not neglected. He also swings and grooves on the bass so loudly that the skin cracks (and sometimes the bass does too). When Grandpa Pete doesn’t want to make announcements on stage, he also speaks up.

Philip Flottau
(drums)
Philip joined the band just in time for the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. Originally an old-school jazz drummer, he also finds his playing at home in swing, rhythm and blues, and rock ‘n’ roll. Philip’s drumming gives the WyattChristmas sound a slightly jazzy, recognizable quality. He’s also passionate about songwriting. Whether brushes, sticks, or hot rods—everything works for him…

Torsten Armin Witte
(tour-manager)
He’s always there when it’s time to lend a hand. At gigs, he handles merchandise sales like T-shirts and CDs, and when necessary, he acts as a sound engineer at the mixing desk. Always in a good mood and smartly dressed, he’s also the go-to person for anyone interested in music who’d like to learn more about our band.
